The short version

We collect a username and an email address. That's the complete list of personal information Braut asks for. No birthdates, no addresses, no demographic profiling, no selling data — ever.

What we collect and why

Username and email — to create your account and send sign-in related emails. Nothing else identifies you.

Your assessment answers and scores — to generate your profile and career matches. They're tied to your account so they follow you across devices.

Your journal entries, challenge answers, path reflections, and game activity (Clara, companions, trades) — so the product works and your progress persists. These are private to your account; we never publish them.

Certificates or diplomas you choose to upload — stored securely so you can keep them in one place. Uploading is entirely optional, and you can delete them anytime.

If you subscribe, payment is handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number — we only learn whether your subscription is active.

What we don't do

We don't sell or rent your data to anyone.

We don't run third-party advertising or tracking networks.

We don't send marketing email without your explicit opt-in.

We don't knowingly collect data from children under 13 (you must confirm you're 13 or older at signup). If we learn an account belongs to a child under 13, we'll delete it.

Who else touches your data

A few service providers make the product run, each receiving only what they need: Neon (our database host), Railway (our app host), Stripe (payments), Resend (transactional email), and Uploadthing (file storage for credentials you upload). Each is bound by their own security and privacy obligations.

Other members can see your username in marketplace listings, trades, and companion ownership history — that's how trading works. They never see your email or anything else.

Your anonymous results

If you take the assessment without an account, your results live only in your own browser — we don't have them. They're gone when your browser session ends unless you create an account to save them.

If you use a share link, the profile data is encoded in the link itself — share it only with people you want to see your results.

Cookies & local storage

We keep this minimal and use no consent banner because we set no advertising or third-party tracking cookies — there's nothing to opt into.

We use one essential cookie: a secure, login session cookie so Braut knows you're signed in. It's required for the site to work and isn't used to track you.

We store some things in your own browser (local storage) to make features work — your assessment results before you make an account, your quiz and challenge progress, and small game state. This stays on your device; it's not advertising or cross-site tracking.

Our analytics are cookieless: we count anonymous page views and a few actions (like starting the quiz) to understand what's working. No cookies, no IP addresses, no device IDs — we measure totals, never individuals.

Payment pages are hosted by Stripe, which may set its own cookies needed to process payment securely; that happens on Stripe's side, and we never see your card details.

Your rights

You can see, correct, or delete your data anytime: your results, journal, and credentials are all visible in the app, and deleting your account removes everything permanently. For anything you can't do in the app, email [email protected] and we'll handle it.

Changes

If this policy changes in any meaningful way, we'll tell you by email or in the app before the change takes effect. The 'last updated' date above always reflects the current version.
